Kevin Sheerin was born and raised in the vibrant borough of the Bronx, New York. A proud graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School, Kevin carried the values instilled there into his next chapter at Cathedral College, where he excelled academically, earning a degree in philosophy in 1979.

Kevin Sheerin was given the crucial role of supervising the Anti-Crime unit in the Midtown North Precinct, where he served for six years. Kevin was promoted to Lieutenant, where he served as Lieutenant in the 19th Precinct on the Upper East Side and later contributed his skills to the NYPD Legal Bureau.  After attending St John’s University School of Law night classes Kevin was promoted to NYPD Captain he was assigned to the Fresh Meadows 107th Precinct and subsequently served in the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica, Queens. He has argued cases before the New York City Civil Service Commission and throughout New York State Courts. Some of the successful Candidates he first assisted are now eligible to retire.

MY PHILOSOPHY

I became an attorney for the same reason that I joined the police force – to help people and make a difference.

I’ve had the privilege of a lifetime to have been a police officer.  I know well not only the tough cases and assignments that come with the job, but also the immensely rewarding feeling of being able to make a difference in the lives of those police officers help – often on very traumatic days of their lives.

As a former police officer, I also know well the strict processes used to qualify Candidates for not only police officer positions, but also those for firemen and correctional officers.  With this background, I’ve chosen to devote my legal practice to helping others pursue their professional dreams by overcoming disqualification determinations when possible. Through more than 20 years of legal practice, I have helped hundreds of clients win their appeals and pursue their professional dreams.

I offer a free phone or video consultation so that I can learn about your case and give you my honest assessment about your chances of winning an appeal.

I provide fixed fee representation so that you will know exactly how much your legal fees will be, regardless of the amount of time spent on your case.  I also offer the option of paying by credit card, as I appreciate that clients are often financially strapped as they are preparing for the next stage of their career.
